BUILDING the future

Ramaco is one of North America’s top producers of high-quality metallurgical coal, a key input in manufacturing steel-based critical materials, and vital for both traditional infrastructure and transitional energy development. We are also an emerging potential producer of rare earth elements and critical minerals.

From our Eastern operations we produce premium metallurgical coal products sold in North America and to international customers in approximately 20 countries. In the West, we are exploring domestic production of rare earth elements from a large deposit at our Wyoming property. Along with federal researchers, we are also pioneering the development of more valuable commercial products and materials made from the carbon contained in coal.

Recent News

Operations

Met Coal Production

Ramaco operates three mine complexes and processing facilities in West Virginia and Virginia. We have been recognized with national safety and environmental awards, employ approximately 800 people and are on track to produce over 4 million tons of metallurgical coal annually.

Critical Minerals & rare earth elements

Our Brook Mine in Wyoming has been determined by the National Energy Technology Laboratory and independent geologists to contain major deposits of magnetic rare earth elements and critical minerals. These are used in products related to advanced defense technologies, batteries, medical devices, and more. We are currently assessing the geological and chemical extent of the deposit to determine the optimal development path.

Coal-to-Product Innovation

We are partnered with the Department of Energy national laboratories and others to conduct innovative research focused on replacing petroleum with coal as a feedstock for manufacturing advanced carbon products and materials, such as carbon fiber, graphene, and graphite. We operate a unique mine-mouth carbon research facility in Wyoming.

Investors

Ramaco has one of the most conservative balance sheets in the industry, and is among the fastest-growing public coal companies. Our asset retirement obligations — tracking land restoration/reclamation obligations and other legacy liabilities — are 94% below the average of our peers. We are rapidly growing and expect our production levels to exceed six million tons over the next several years, financed from internal funds. We serve both domestic and international markets with low-cost, efficient operations and high-quality resources.

In addition to our primary class A stock (METC), our class-B  tracking stock (METCB) presents an asset mix of coal royalties, logistical tolling fees, intellectual property and potential rare earth revenue. The combined dividend yield from these two stocks allows Ramaco to enjoy perhaps the highest regular dividend yield of any publicly-traded metallurgical coal producer.
